Ethiopia - Gedeb Asasa
This coffee comes from the southern part of the Yirgacheffe region where the competition is fierce for the heirloom varietals almost literally grown in the farmer’s backyards. The washing station in the Gedeb District processes the coffee from roughly 700 of these backyard farms. Sorting is meticulous at every step of the processing leading to the excellent cup quality. The reputation of these coffees has led to a competition for the cherries with the end result being that the farmers see the benefits of their attention to detail.
